Er ist Gründer des HAUTZENTRUM KÖLN, Inhaber der hautärztlichen Privatpraxis und Praxisklinik DERMATOLOGIKUM KÖLN und ärztlicher Leiter der Abteilung für Dermatologie, Dermato-Chirurgie und Allergologie der KLINIK LINKS VOM RHEIN.

Neben seinem wissenschaftlichen Engagement als Fakultätsmitglied und Lehrbeauftragter der Universität Witten/Herdecke, ist PD Dr. Philipp-Dormston Mitbegründer der Professor Unna Akademie und Präsident der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Ästhetische Botulinum- und Fillertherapie (DGBT). Er ist Referent der European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology (EADV), der European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS), sowie Fakultätsmitglied internationaler Fachkongresse, Gutachter, Berater und Autor zahlreicher wissenschaftlicher Publikationen.
